For recipes, the ingredients are primarily sourced from the USDA’s FoodData Central database and then have been reviewed by registered dieticians. For barcode scanning and some off-plan foods, FatSecret’s Food and Nutrition API is used which sources and verifies nutrition information.

Click on the ingredient in the grocery list for a handy tool that helps you more easily search the shelves for brands with similar macros. Check out the Nutrition Facts of Ingredients tutorial for more info.

Yes. To export your grocery list to PDF, you can go the Grocery List tab and a large, green download button will be at the bottom right of the screen. Note- the digital version of the grocery list does have additional features not available via PDF (like the “find brands with similar macros” tool or the ability to see which recipes the ingredient is used in) so we recommend using the app or at least having it on hand when shopping.

Safari:
- Navigate to the website in Safari on your mobile device.
- Click the share icon
- Select the “Add to Home Screen” option and complete set up by selecting “Add”
- The newly installed web app will be available on your Home Screen
