Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and stir occasionally until softened, about 10 minutes.

Add in green chilies and ground turkey. Break apart turkey in the pan and cook until browned and no longer pink inside. Add chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and a pinch of salt. Stir the spices and toast for about 1 minute.

Pour in tomato puree and barbecue sauce. Bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes and remove from heat.

Scoop sloppy joe mixture onto a bun and serve.

Meal Prep Note: Store leftover sloppy joe mixture in a airtight container in the fridge. When ready to eat, reheat mixture in the microwave and serve on a bun.
