In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Add the beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, pasta sauce, beef broth, water, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil, then add the pasta and stir to combine.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pot. Cook for the time indicated on the pasta package instructions, until the pasta is al dente. Stir halfway through and add more water if needed.
