1. Honey dijon salmon

Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C)

Take half of the mustard and spread it over the top of the salmon.

Heat the oil over medium high heat and sear the top of the salmon for about 1 or 2 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine remaining mustard, honey, and garlic in a small bowl.

Transfer salmon to a greased baking sheet, skin side down, and brush on the honey mixture all over the top.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes until done.

Serve.
2. Buttery white rice

In a saucepan with a good fitting lid bring water and salt to a boil.

Add rice and stir.

Cover and reduce heat to medium low. You will know that your temperature is correct if a little steam is visible leaking from the lid. A lot of steam means your heat is too high.

Cook for 20 minutes.

DO NOT LIFT LID!

The steam that is trapped inside the pan is what allows the rice to cook properly.

Remove from heat and fluff with fork, mix in butter, and season to taste with pepper. Serve.
